This site shows officially designated individual Chicago Landmarks. It does not currently include landmark districts or contributing properties inside districts.
Landmark records are loaded from the City of Chicago Data Portal. The Community Area filter is derived from the city's official Community Area boundary dataset.
Photos and narrative descriptions, when available, are loaded from the City of Chicago's official Chicago Landmarks web app pages.
The official sources used here do not provide a verified standing/demolished status field. Because some landmarks are also interiors, monuments, bridges, parks, or sites rather than buildings, this map does not currently offer a standing-status filter.
